Live, On-demand, Academic Help from SMARTHINKING can now be integrated into WebCT

Washington, D.C., and LYNNFIELD, Mass., July 19, 2005 – WebCT, Inc., provider of higher education’s most flexible and widely used e-learning solutions, and SMARTHINKING, the leading provider of online tutoring to colleges and high schools, announced today the release of a SMARTHINKING PowerLink for WebCT to enable seamless access to SMARTHINKING’s online tutoring system from within a WebCT course environment.

With the release of the SMARTHINKING PowerLink for WebCT, students will be able to log into SMARTHINKING’s online tutoring system via a simple, secure connection embedded in the WebCT e-learning environment.

SMARTHINKING staffs tutors up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in math, writing, statistics, accounting, economics, chemistry, physics, biology, Spanish, and math tutoring in Spanish. Now students at institutions who have purchased these services and who use WebCT Vista 3.0 and higher and WebCT Campus Edition 6 can access these services directly from their course page. In addition to accessing a live tutor, students can also submit a draft essay for a critique within 24 hours or submit a question for next day response, all without leaving their course environment or re-authenticating.
